Licensed H.A.P.P.Y.-coaches

Veerle Geerts

Tian En Liew

Who am I?

I have been in the counselling, social work and training profession since 2014 and have extensive experience ranging from non-profit social service agency to educational setting.

I was the first Special Educational Needs (SEN) Counsellor in a local Institute of Higher Learning and was pivotal in supporting students with SEN (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Dyslexia, hard of hearing, blind and physical impairments).

Such supports include providing transition support for SEN students who newly enrolled, providing academic coaching on how SEN individuals can navigate the learning landscape and internship support, working together with workplace supervisors on providing reasonable accommodations.

Since attending an Autism conference in Singapore and listening to Peter Vermeulen, I have been following his work which has been extremely advantageous to me professionally. Subsequently, I decided to take his h.a.p.p.y. coach course and I find it extremely beneficial for my clients who want to enhance their overall wellbeing.

Simona Galluccio

Who am I?

I am currently working as a Behaviour & Learning Practitioner in a SEN School in London for young people from 11 to 19 with moderate to severe learning difficulties, many who are on the Autistic Spectrum.

I have been working as a therapist with children for over 9 years in a variety of settings including schools and private practice. I graduated as a Neuro-Psychomotor Therapist of Developmental Age, I subsequently obtained a two-year Specialisation Course in Psychomotor Rehabilitation and Counselling. I also completed a Master in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Autism.

The HAPPY plan is an excellent complement to my knowledge and experience  of using low arousal and positive behaviour support strategies. It provides me with a different way of responding to the needs of my clients and their families using an holistic approach which ultimately aims for their happiness and overall well-being.

Tanya Bowie

Who am I?

I currently work as a behaviour and learning practitioner as part of a therapy team in a SEN school in South London. Our school supports young people from 11-19 who have a learning disability and who are on the autism spectrum.

I enjoy supporting our young students to explore their strengths with the aim of helping them to thrive in a world that is often difficult for them to navigate. Supporting their wellbeing and developing ideas that help them navigate the big wide world is something that the H.A.P.P.Y plan is ideal for.

I have worked with both adults and children with a learning disability and autism since 1990.

I am a qualified positive support behaviour practitioner with a MSc from the Tizard Centre, University of Kent. I also have a Learning disability nursing qualification from Kew school of Nursing, Victoria, Australia. I incorporate the low arousal approach into the way I offer support having completed training with Studio III.

Who am I?

I am a Socionom, Head of Operations for Assistance at NPF-Specialisterna and a Psychotherapy student. I have broad experience in the field having worked as a personal assistant, caregiver and social worker, later transitioning to leadership and guidance. The experience has taught me the importance of finding happiness in the daily work – both for clients and workers – and I believe the H.A.P.P.Y.-Plan is a great tool to achieve that. The H.A.P.P.Y.-Plan is also a good complement to KASAM, TEACCH, PERMA and Low Arousal Approach, which are our core methods and perspectives at NPF-Specialisterna.

Anke Schwiete

Who am I?

My name is Anke: I am autistic, mother of an autistic child and a special needs educator. The topic of how autistic people think and experience the world is therefore both personally and professionally very close to my heart. Many studies point out that the brains of autistic people work differently, so called neurodiverse. This new view (“different, but not wrong”) needs to be applied to all areas of working with and for autistic people.

The H.A.P.P.Y. project, aimed at autistic people, families, and educators, takes this autistic viewpoint as the basis for increasing well-being and enjoyment. I consider this positive and resource-orientated approach to be groundbreaking and want to contribute to its implementation so that it can be offered in the German language as well.

As a certified H.A.P.P.Y. coach, I not only offer the development of personalised H.A.P.P.Y. plans for children and adults, but also offer advice and consultations with parents, professionals, and companies on how to deal with neurodiversity.

Consultations can either take place via video call (Skype, Zoom), by telephone or in certain cases in person in a home environment.

Ilse Van den Eede

Who am I?

As a mother of a son with autism,  I complimented my sociology training with a postgraduate Autism course where I met Peter Vermeulen. The importance of wellbeing cannot be underestimated and that is why I also became a H.A.P.P.Y. coach. It’s my passion to contribute to a more open society that embraces neurodiversity.
As an Autism Coach  I work with people with Autism as from 6 years old and I also coach parents, employers, schools etc. in dealing with autism.  It might be interesting to know I have also an affinity with people with an intellectual disability as of my own experience with my son.
Additionally, I’m  co-founder of Autimatic, a social company which offers work to people with autism in three areas: administration, automation and artificial intelligence (www.autimatic.be).
I have a private practice in Etikhove (Flemish Ardennes) and Ghent (Belgium). Video appointments are possible.

Nancy Defreyne

– psycho-educatie
– omgevingsaanpassingen
