Description

The Autism‐Good Feeling‐Questionnaire is an informal assessment tool. Its purpose is to provide educators, caregivers, therapists, and other professionals with ideas for improving the well-being of individuals with autism spectrum disorder.

The questionnaire includes different sections: sensory stimuli, social events, communication, changes and transitions, rituals and routines, people, objects and activities, and certain thoughts.

For each item in these sections, the individual can indicate whether it evokes a negative feeling, a slightly positive feeling, a positive feeling, a very positive feeling, or “I don’t know.” In addition to the items, there are free-text and open-ended questions, allowing for the inclusion of elements not mentioned in the questionnaire. The responses help to create a unique personal well-being profile, providing insight into all the things that evoke positive feelings in the individual. “I don’t know” responses can be used to explore new potential sources of well-being.

The elements of the sensory section inspire the creation of a wellness toolbox, one of the strategies of H.A.P.P.Y.®.
